Posted October 10th, 2023: The MRPS School Board is seeking community members with relevant experience and knowledge to join an Ad Hoc committee that will guide the board in developing a decarbonization plan and net zero evaluation tool for future facilities and operations decisions. The Ad Hoc committee will meet for 2 hours every month from November through June. These efforts are being launched in accordance with the board’s net zero and decarbonization resolution passed in May 2023.

October 29th, 2023 Update: At our November 1st board meeting, the board agreed to step back from committee work to allow for a concerted focus on budget development given it is one of our primary functions. Following suit, our Facilities and Energy Committee agreed to delay the start of the Net Zero Ad Hoc Committee work and kick-off in January (vs. December) once the board has moved a '24-'25 budget forward.
