Strategic Anti-Racism and Equity Plan
MRPS Director of Social Emotional Learning Jessica Murray presented to the MRPS Board of School Directors on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024 introducing the draft MRPS Strategic Anti-Racism & Equity Plan. As the Strategic Anti-Racism & Equity Plan is built it is critical to gather feedback from across the MRPS community. The goal is to partner with MRPS stakeholders to collectively commit to centering anti-racism and equity across the MRPS community and to commit to concrete action steps create anti-racist and equitable schools.

MPRS's goal is that every student graduates from our system with the confidence, skills, and dispositions to have a limitless future. In order to achieve this goal, we recognize that every learner needs to feel safe and have a sense of belonging at school. As we look at the next evolution of our systems work, we are cognizant of the fact that educational equity must be the cornerstone we build upon.
In light of this, MRPS put out a request for proposals in December, 2022 and partnered with The Equity Leadership Group to conduct an equity audit of our current system as approved by the Board of School Directors at their March 22, 2023 meeting.
As part of their wider scope of work, The Equity Leadership Group conducted focus groups and distributed an anonymous survey with/to MRPS administrators, faculty and staff, students, caregivers, and other community stakeholders in the fall of 2023.
The audit report was published and a presentation made to the school board at the April 17th, 2024 board meeting.
